Middle-Old Adult

This is the upper view of burials 12-13 and 12-14 in zone 52. Individual 12-13 is a seated middle-old adult, and individual 12-14 is a seated adult. Both are accompanied by vessel fragments.

This is the upper view of burial 12-11 in zone 42e, containing a flexed middle-old adult. Chert, pomacea and fragmentary vessels are among the grave goods.

This is the upper view of burial 12-9 in zone 40. Vessel 090 is depicted.

Burial 11-5 is a seated middle-old adult male in zone 52.

Individual 11-4 is a termination burial in zone 36. The extended middle-old adult is accompanied by vessel 106.

Burial 11-1 is an extended middle-old adult burial in zone 7. Broken vessel 079 was placed like a shield over the chest.

This is the upper view of secondary middle-old adult female burial 8-1, in zone 6. Vessels 061 and 062 are depicted.

The profile drawing is of a multiple burial in operation 1, zone 18. Burials 1-2a through 1-2i are represented, in addition to "root" burial 1-45 in zone 236. (Plan views of B1-45 exist in a separate series.) The burials contain shell tinklers, carved bone, and eight vessels.

Burial 1-31 is a secondary old adult male in zone 152. Burial 1-34 is in zone 152a. Individual 1-34a is an extended middle-old adult female accompanied by vessel 019. Individual 1-34b is a child in a secondary interment.

Extended adult males 1-25 (zones 99 and 115) and 1-29 (zone 115a) were placed in the same pit, though in different interment episodes. They are accompanied by vessels 013 and 014, which display the earliest recovered examples of the cross motif.
