Reconstructed vessels catalog

This is the carinated portion of a large, intricately decorated jar, very similar to ECA-V-115. Only a small part of the decoration is evident, beginning with motif A329, consisting of a horizontal row of highly stylized oval eyes. Below this is zone marker RZ4D-3R-2, followed by motif PK557 ending at the carination.

This is a somewhat eroded fragment of a pedestal base with quite elaborate and finely executed dentate stamping and cutouts. What remains of the main motif has been coded as a fragment (TFG1530), but there is little doubt that it is a version of the twin long-beaked bird motif (PK119), also present on at least one other pedestal foot. Below the bird motif is a row of stamped circles (A417), then zone marker GZ1, then motif A499, and finally the base of the pedestal has motif GS135, alternating triangular cutouts with intervening dentate stamped lines.

This this the juncture of the upper portion of a pedestal base with the bottom of a vessel, probably an unrestricted bowl. The decoration remaining on the side of the pedestal base consists of zone marker RZ4D-4R-2 (just under the junction with the vessel base), below which is motif PK276, consisting of a simple pattern of repeated dentate-stamped lozenges in groups of three stacked vertically.

This small bowl was not decorated on the interior. The lip has a simple dentate decoration of motif GS123. On the exterior, the design begins with zone marker RZ4D-4R-2, followed by stamped lozenges of motif GS216, below which is a second zone marker RZ4D-4R-2. The lowest motif is GS273, with simple stamped triangular motifs.

This is the upper body portion of a large globular jar, broken at the junction with a strongly everted rim. The vessel is undecorated.

This pedestal base has only a fragment of the main motif (TFG2723), a curvilinear design executed in coarse dentate stamping. Along the base is a row of stamped circles (motif A417), and then alternating triangular cutouts (motif FOH84).

This plainware jar with everted rim has an unusually thin vessel wall and lip.

This is the neck and rim of a thin-walled, well-fired jar. The lip has parallel grooves along the inside made by impressing, probably with a small stick, while the lip edge has been notched, probably by pinching with the fingers. Beginning about 3.3 cm below the lip, the neck has been decorated by rocking back and forth with the naturally serrated edge of a shell such as Anadara.

This is the everted rim of a large jar, broken at the junction with the upper vessel body. The flat lip has been decorated by notching along both the inner and outer edges with a V-shaped tool; otherwise the vessel is plain.

This is the strongly everted rim of what was presumably a large jar; whether the jar was carinated or not cannot be determined. The flat lip is decorated with slanting, parallel incised lines (motif JP-G1). On the exterior the decoration consists of a cross-hashed grid of incised lines; no effort was made to keep these lines closely parallel or evenly spaced.
