Reconstructed vessels catalog

This small sherd is interpreted as the rim of a lid, based on its profile. The fragmentary decoration begins with zone marker RZ4D-4-2, followed by two sets of motif A385 on either side of a stamped line, motif A1. This is followed by another zone marker RZ4D-2R-2, and another row of motif A385.

This is the carinated portion only of a carinated jar with a fairly sharp carination angle and the bases of an everted rim. The fairly open, incised decoration, confined to the area above the carination has only a small fragment of an upper motif (TFG142) involving curved lines; between this upper motif and the carination is motif PK48 consisting of rectangular “boxes” with an X in each.

This sherd, which is notable for the two parallel raised, appliqué bands, is probably from a cylinder stand. The gap between the two ridges is plain, while the ridges themselves are decorated with zone markers RZ45-4-1.

This is the carinated portion only of a carinated jar. The portion above the carination is decorated with slanting incised lines (motif TFG3000), rather crudely executed.

This sherd has been cataloged as a separate vessel due to minor design variation, but is likely part of the same vessel as ECA-V-054. Both vessels have the same lip decoration, but ECA-V-122 has a row of stamped circles (motif A417) just below the lip, lacking on ECA-V-054. Otherwise the exterior decoration of ECA-V-122 is identical to that of -054, with a main motif of PK145, of the zigzag design family.

This poorly fired vessel is the partial rim and base of a flat bottom dish, missing the lip. The remnant of the main motif (TFG3011) is a variant of the labyrinth design. Below this is zone marker RZ4D-3-2, while motif A51-3 runs along the base of the rim.

This flat-bottom dish lacks decoration on the interior. The flat lip is decorated with zone marker RZ4D-3-2. On the exterior the decoration begins with motif FOH144, below which is zone marker RZ4D-3R-2. The main motif (PK447) is of the “dumbbell” type. Motif CS70-1 runs along the base of the rim. The dentate stamping is finely executed and lime in-filled. An additional feature of this vessel consists of two perforations situated 7.6 mm below the lip and 13 mm part, each with a diameter of 3.5 mm, passing through the vessel wall. These perforations were likely intended to allow cordage to pass through the vessel in order to secure a lid to the dish.

These sherds represent only part of the decorated portion of what was most likely a thin-walled, restricted bowl. The decoration begins with motif PK507, below which are two rows of a RZ4D-2-2 zone marker bordering motif A55 top and bottom. Below the lower zone marker there is only a fragment of a complex motif (TFG2685) with both curvilinear and straight line segments.

This is the neck and rim of what was most likely a jar. The main motif (TFG2827), executed rather coarsely with incising, consists of a cruciform pattern set within two concentric circular rings. The two double circles set behind the cross might possibly represent eyes, in which case this would be highly stylized face motif, but this is not certain.
