Line No. Line number reflecting original order of data entry, probably irrelevant for most investigators.

Provenience. Full minimal provenience (see Chapter 2 for comments on abbreviations).

Site. This and the following are individual elements of the provenience, to allow sorting by mound, unit, and so forth.

Ceramic Analysis Level. A through E; see Table 2.2.

Refuse Sample ID. Initial Refuse Sample identifier (see Chapter 2).

Phase (sorts to chronological order). Here, the phases will sort in chronological order because of appended numbers

Frequency. Number of rims.

Comments.

Type-Class. See Chapter 8 for definition and description.

Type. See Chapter 8 for definition and description. Includes uncertain identifications of various kinds.

Type-Simplified. Simplified types with uncertainties smoothed out; probably the most appropriate for analysis.

Vessel Form-Level C categories. Basic vessel categories used in classification at level C (see Data Record A4).

Vessel Form. Form code from Figure 8.1.

Form-Basic. Somewhat simplified version of the vessel form codes (B1a and B1b become simply “B1,” and so forth)

Form-General. Further lumping of form codes to more generalized vessel forms.

Form-Functional classification. Mostly a descriptive version of Form-General.
