Excavations in Jaffa from 1985 through the end of 2015 with license numbers, coordinates, location name, and available publications, updated from Peilstöcker (2011)
Excavations at Abu Kabir 1872 to 2002.
Notes
Excavations in Jaffa by the Kaplans and earlier scholars between 1948 and 1985 are summarized in HAJ 1 (pp. 25–26 in tables 2.7 and 2.8). A preliminary list of excavations since 1985 was also first offered in the appendix of that volume (pp. 26–29 on table 2.9). Since many publications appeared for these excavations since 2011, the list of excavations in Jaffa presented in Table 0.1 represents all excavation licenses issues from 1985 through 2015 for work done in Jaffa. References to published reports for Jaffa are to works listed in Appendix 3, §3. Research History, 1903–2015. Excavations at Abu Kabir, Jaffa’s eastern necropolis, are listed in Table 0.2 with references located in Appendix 3, §7. Abu Kabir. Appendix 1 can be consulted for general descriptions and localizations of excavation areas. In both tables, grid coordinates beginning with “12” reference the Old Israel Grid (OIG), while those beginning with “17” reference the New Israel Grid (NIG).
