Figurative Imagery
Winged horse at top left & right bottom, front. One at bottom being ridden - Perseus & Pegasus type characters? i.e. killing ketos the sea-monster to rescue Andromeda. Chimerae also present on the stelae (not this one) . Here he is killing a large eel-like creature with a horse-like head that holds a fish in its mouth. Ferri thinks the Pegasus myth originated from Asia Minor, Mesopotamia. Thrace & Macedonia (see Nava 1988a:. 115 top paragraph for details).
